Short Description

This research details a BOCR model designed to solve the current gun control debate in America. After a December 2012 mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut that left 26 dead, including 20 children, gun control emerged as a national issue. Democrats desire significant gun control that includes an assault weapons ban, the limitation of high capacity magazines, and extended background checks. Republicans believe that the gun control argument is misguided and infringes on Americans second amendment rights. They prefer to look at mental health and other violent influences. Last week, gun control legislation was voted down in the US senate. With the gun control battle over, at least in the short-term, many Americans are left wondering what is truly the best course of action in America regarding gun control. Therefore, this BOCR model has the goal of choosing the best course of action regarding gun control for America.
