The goal of this model is to optimize a high selection in the NFL draft by drafting a solid contributor to your team, if not a Pro-Bowl caliber player while at the same time avoiding the selection of a player who can set your franchise back years.

Here is presented a a complex decision model to determine where to buy a season ski pass, because it is something that many people ponder from ski season to ski season. We decided to focus on ski resorts within approximately a 200 mile radius of Pittsburgh, because any farther than that was determined to be too far to travel frequently enough for a season pass.

This is an ANP model to determine whether the NFL should modify its regular season to 18 games.

Model 8.27: ANP BOCR - Selecting the Host City for the Summer Olympics 2000 (1999)
The selection of a host city for the Olympic Games is extremely important, as a large part of the success of the Games depends on the site that is chosen seven years prior. The factors that play role in the decision are not limited to purely technical or financial criteria. Each candidate city must demonstrate to the International Olympic Committee that its bid to stage the greatest multidisciplinary event in the world has the support of its people and all its political authorities. The main purpose of the games is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport, practiced without discrimination of any kind. In this project the goal is to determine the identity of the host city for the 2000 Olympic Games.

Model 8.28: ANP BOCR - Should the City of Pittsburgh Contribute Funds to Construct a New Hockey Arena? (2001)
In the last year, the City of Pittsburgh has experienced a sort of renaissance with the completion of two new stadiums. PNC Park and Heinz Field are the new homes of the Pirates baseball team and the Steelers football team, respectively. In keeping with this momentum of growth in the “entertainment” arena, Mario Lemieux, Pittsburgh’s most famous professional hockey player, has made a personal effort to upgrade the hockey franchise of the Pittsburgh Penguins. This analysis was designed to answer the question of whether the City of Pittsburgh should support such an investment.

Model 8.29: ANP BOCR - University of Pittsburgh Football Stadium (2002
In the summer of 1998, the University of Pittsburgh was in the midst of a debate regarding the future residency of the football team. The 75-year old Pitt Stadium that resided on the campus of the University of Pittsburgh was getting old, and was not accommodating to the future aspirations of the program. Realizing that the current stadium conditions were below par, the administration at the University had to make a critical decision about the direction of its football program facilities. This study was carried out to determine whether the right decision was made.

Porsche has failed several times in the past to expand its product line. In the past it has tried to build a mid-engine car with Volkswagen, and then a front-engine car with Audi, both which were eventually discontinued. This study was done before Porsche’s decision to make the SUV more than a year later.

Model 8.31: ANP BOCR - Determining who will Win the 2003 World Series (2003)
This project aims to predict the winner of 2003`s World Series. The World Series began to be played in 1903, making 2003 the 100th anniversary of the event. The eight teams in this year‘s playoffs have made it there by winning their division or by being one of the wild cards from each league. The wild card is the team that has the best record but does not win its division. The basis of the model is statistical data collected for each of the playoff teams. These stats measure traits that the key abilities required to win the World Series have been identified.

The BOCR model identified in this report will take the perspective of the NCAA Wrestling Committee Members, who will ultimately make the decision regarding a National Dual Meet Championship and attempt to accurately prioritize the decision alternatives’ impact on the various criterion and stakeholders. This model will ultimately identify whether the NCAA should host a National Wrestling Dual Meet Championship.
